VE3 - Vehicle Networking
  • Thursday 23rd October 2025
    09:00
  • Taylors Auto Electrical (Dingbro)

    Fernhill Units,
    Lang Stracht,
    Aberdeen,
    AB16 6TX

  • Building on the foundational knowledge of basic and intermediate electrics, VE3 is designed to take automotive
technicians to the next level by focusing on vehicle networking systems. The course delves into the intricacies of
various networking protocols such as CAN, MOST, LIN, etc. Participants will not only gain an understanding of how
these systems work but, more importantly, learn how to diagnose and repair them when faults occur. The course
emphasizes the use of oscilloscopes for diagnosing faulty signals and utilizes technical data to effectively map
out vehicle networks. Topics covered include the introduction to vehicle networking, smart sensors and actuators,
fault diagnosis and repair techniques, diagnostic system operations, strategy-based diagnostic procedures, and
    networked vehicle systems diagnostics.

    • Focus on the key principles and functions of vehicle
    networking systems
    • Diagnose and repair faults in vehicle networking
    systems
    • Utilise oscilloscopes to diagnose faulty signals within
    vehicle networks
    • Effectively use technical data to map out and diagnose
    vehicle networks
    • Implement strategy-based diagnostic procedures for
    networked vehicle systems
