This course is designed for automotive technicians who want to develop their skills in conducting
comprehensive vehicle inspections. The course focuses on the importance of identifying defects, both
major and minor, to ensure the highest level of safety on the roads. Participants will learn the components
to check during an inspection and will also be taught best practices to maximize productivity and
efficiency in the inspection process.

• Differentiate between vehicle inspections and
MOT checks
• Perform lighting checks to ensure proper functionality
and compliance with regulations
• Conduct a thorough brake check to identify any issues
or abnormalities
• Perform a tyre safety check, including assessing tread
depth, tire pressure, and signs of damage or wear.
• Utilise suspension checking techniques to identify
potential faults or wear
• Identify and assess body corrosion for maintenance
and preventive measures
• Learn different chassis construction methods
